Sustainability

The Problem!

The fashion industry is the second largest polluter in the world after the oil industry. The environmental damage is increasing as the industry grows.

Did you know?

A family in Europe throws away an average of 11 kg of clothing each year.  Only 15% is recycled or donated and the rest goes directly to landfill or is incinerated.

Chemicals are one of the main components of clothes.  They are used during fibre production, dyeing, bleaching, and wet processing of each garment.

Not only are these chemicals harmful to the environment, they can be harmful to the consumer too.

What can you do about it?

  1. Choose organic and recycled materials - like ours.
  2. Choose sustainable brands- like ours.
  3. Always wash new clothes before using them for the first time
  4. Look for garments with certification labels controlling chemical content such as OEKO-TEX® - that's what we use.

There are solutions and alternatives to mitigate these problems.  Liloli is one of many new brands supporting change.

Sustainable & Ethical Production from the Start

Sustainable Production

Our manufacturer makes our products in a factory powered by solar energy.  Yes, your items have been made using the power of the sun!  Some of this energy is also sent back to the local grid for use elsewhere or back to the factory on cloudy days.

We are proud to be using a supplier who values working ethics and the environment as much as we do.  We have carefully selected our supplier ensuring that working ethics are as much a priority on their agenda as they are on ours.
